Easter (we are not bothering with something silly like chronology these days)

The Fab Four :)

She wasn't quite sure what to do with her first Easter basket- until she discovered that she could pull all the grass out and make a big mess!

Good Hair Days

Yesterday C-Raywas in the bathroom with me while I fixed my hair- a somewhat lengthy process, as anyone who attempts to straighten naturally wavy hair will tell you. Anyway, when I arrived at the end of my little "hair-journey," I commented to him, "C-Ray, Mom's having a good hair day today." He looks in the mirror and says, "Yeah, so am I."

On a similar note, as I combed Apple's hair into ponytails a few minutes later, she complained because she wanted her hair in one ponytail instead of two. Here is the conversation that transpired:
Apple: "Mom, I don't want my hair in two ponytails. I don't like the way it looks."
Mom: "Well, I think it looks cute. Who do you think knows more about how to make hair look good- you or Mom?"
Apple: "Ummm.... I'm not sure."

Spring Game 2008, Take 1

Spring Game 2008, Take 2

During halftime, all the kids in the stadium can go down onto the field. So, here are the kiddos (with Daddy and Uncle M) doing just that!

Hanging Out with Grandma and Grandpa

The best part about our trip to the Nebraska Spring Game is that Nate's parents come up from Texas, his brother Matt and sister-in-law Julie come down from Minnesota, and we get to spend a long weekend together. This year we even spent a day with Nate's grandparents and some aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Four generations...

Mack and his grandpa- the insurance guys :)

Mack's mom is the oldest of eight children, and Grandma and Grandpa had the discipline thing DOWN back in the day and well behaved children are kind of a big thing to them. In addition, Mack's grandma has Parkinson's and is pretty feeble these days. So, before arriving for our day at their house, we lectured the children and gave them warning...

We Told Them To Be On Their Best Behavior...

Faithie dragging Little One across the floor
C-Ray being pleasant
C-Ray sitting still
Little One chugging an entire bottle of Dr. Pepper...
Just kidding. Ha- actually, they were VERY good during their day at their great-grandparents' house- Amazing.

Just Now

As I sit typing, Apple just came in and said to me, "Mom, I need some dollars so I can buy you a Mother's Day Present."

Cultural Diversity

We sat at dinner not long ago and Faithie informs me, "Mom, we learned about 3 new countries in school today! And in two of them, they eat with PORKCHOPS!"

The World's Largest Nudist Colony

Sunday, on the way home from church, we listened to the following conversation between our children:

Faithie: "Maybe someday we can visit Australia."
Apple: "Ew. I don't want to go to Australia. The people there don't wear clothes. That's really gross."
